Simple lift kits (block and spindle) are manageable with some mechanical experience, while A-arm and long-travel lifts are best left to a shop for safety and alignment. Requirements vary by state, but a street-legal build typically needs headlights, tail lights, and turn signals, a windshield, mirrors, a horn, and seat belts — often with DOT-rated tires. Performance changes like lift kits, motor or controller upgrades, or electrical modifications can affect coverage on those systems, depending on the manufacturer.
