EZGO TXT Parts & Accessories

The EZGO TXT is one of the longest-running golf cart platforms ever built — 1995 to today, on essentially the same steel-frame chassis. If you bought a used cart and you're not sure what it is, odds are good it's a TXT. That ubiquity is also why this is one of the largest collections on our site: nearly 1,700 parts that fit a TXT somewhere across thirty model years.

Two different things drive fitment here, and it helps to keep them separate. For body, lift, and light accessories, the break point is 2014 — body styling and certain mounting points changed, so body kits, lift kits, and some lights are sold as “pre-2014” or “2014+”. For controllers, chargers, and lithium conversions, what matters is the drive system actually in your cart — not the year. Electric TXTs ran 36V Series DC early on, then 48V PDS, DCS, or AC depending on how the cart was built and whether it's since been converted, so read the controller label (or send us a photo) rather than guessing by year — our basic guide to golf cart speed controllers explains what a controller does and the main types, and how to convert your cart to lithium walks through the swap. Gas TXTs use the Kawasaki-built EX1 engine on newer years.

What's not on this page: Marathon parts (pre-1995, different chassis) and RXV parts (different cart entirely — leaf-spring rear on the TXT versus independent rear suspension on the RXV). Shopping cross-make? Head to the RXV collection.

FAQs for EZGO TXT Parts & Accessories

What year is my EZGO TXT?+

EZGO stamps the serial number on the chassis frame near the driver-side rear, or sometimes on the rear bumper bracket. There's also a manufacturer ID + year letter on a plate riveted to the frame. The year letter restarts on a cycle, so we usually decode it alongside the full serial — call us with both at 678-331-7404 and we'll tell you the year and the controller type in the same conversation. TXT proper started in 1995 and is still in production.

Is my EZGO a TXT or an RXV?+

Look at the rear suspension. The TXT has a solid rear axle with a leaf spring on each side — you'll see the leaves bolted under the rear of the chassis. The RXV has independent rear suspension — each rear wheel on its own arm with a coil-over shock, and no leaf spring. RXV also runs an AC drive system on the electric variant with regen braking. If the body shape leaves you unsure, the rear suspension settles it. The serial/build plate confirms the exact model and year too — call it in to 678-331-7404.

Will TXT parts fit a Marathon?+

Mostly no. The Marathon (1976-1994) used a different steel chassis and a different drive system from the TXT that replaced it. There are a handful of small wear parts (some hardware, some switches) that cross over, but lift kits, body kits, seats, controllers, and most drivetrain parts are not interchangeable. If you have a Marathon, search by that name specifically and confirm with us before ordering.

What's the difference between PDS and DCS Series TXT?+

They're two different electric drive systems EZGO used on the 48V TXT. PDS (Precision Drive System) is the older variant, common on TXT electrics from the late 1990s through the mid-2000s — a Series DC motor with regen via SepEx-style control. DCS came later with different controller logic. Some 2009+ TXTs moved to AC drive entirely. The three systems use different controllers, solenoids, and chargers, so don't go by year — a TXT may have been converted, and the controller actually in the cart is what counts. Read the controller label or call us before swapping electronics.

Can I put a lithium battery in my 2010 TXT?+

Yes — a 2010 48V TXT is one of the more common lithium conversions we ship. You'll typically need the lithium pack, a compatible 48V charger, and (depending on the controller) a programmer or controller update so the new pack discharges and charges correctly. Lithium gets you full voltage to the end of the curve, big weight savings, and faster charging. Call 678-331-7404 with your controller type and we'll build the right bundle.
