Windshields

Driving into constant wind, dust, or light rain can make even short rides uncomfortable—especially at higher speeds or in cooler weather. Windshields help control that by creating a barrier between you and the elements coming from the front.

Designed for Club Car, EZGO, Yamaha, ICON, and Evolution carts, windshields focus on forward protection. Unlike roofs or golf cart enclosures, they don’t cover the entire cart—they manage airflow and debris coming directly toward the driver and passengers.

They make a noticeable difference in everyday driving. Blocking direct wind reduces fatigue on longer rides, while deflecting dust, debris, and light rain keeps passengers more comfortable. In cooler conditions, they help retain warmth, and on select models, fold-down designs let you adjust airflow when needed. Paired with wipers, they maintain clearer visibility in changing weather, and adding mirrors helps you stay aware of your surroundings.

Windshield options explained: Standard acrylic windshields are suited for basic driving where you want to keep wind and rain off your face. Heavy-duty impact-resistant options (like Fairway styles) are designed to better resist cracking and fading over time. DOT AS4 windshields meet Department of Transportation requirements for LSV use, making them the right choice for street-driven carts.

Windshields are a focused solution for improving ride comfort—handling what’s coming at you without fully enclosing the cart.

FAQs for Windshields

What's the difference between a fold-down and a fixed windshield?+

A fold-down (folding) windshield hinges at the center so it can flip down flat onto the hood when you want airflow, while a fixed windshield stays upright in one position. They share the same lower mounting points; the folding version just adds an upper hinge or strut-latch mechanism. Both mount without any electrical work.

Acrylic versus AS4/DOT — which windshield do I need?+

For general use around the property, a standard clear or tinted acrylic panel is fine. If your cart is registered as a street-legal LSV, most states require a DOT-rated windshield stamped "AS4" that meets the federal glazing standard — a plain acrylic panel with no DOT stamp can fail inspection. Look for the "AS4" or "DOT" mark in the corner of the panel if you drive on public roads.

Can I get a tinted windshield, and is tint street-legal?+

Yes — cart windshields come in clear, light tint, and dark tint. Clear is universally accepted for road use, light tint is typically fine, but some states restrict dark tint on street-driven carts, so verify with your state DMV before ordering a dark panel. If the cart never sees public roads, tint is purely your preference.

Will any windshield fit my cart?+

No — windshields are cut to a specific cowl, and "fits EZGO" isn't enough. As one example, the EZGO RXV cowl is wider and its strut angles differ from the TXT, so an RXV needs an RXV-specific panel — a TXT windshield will almost-but-not-quite fit. Match your exact make, model, and year to the listing, and if you have a non-Club Car/EZGO/Yamaha cart, call 678-331-7404 so we can verify the opening dimensions first.

Is a windshield hard to install?+

It's one of the friendlier installs — no electrical work and no torque-critical hardware. The lower brackets attach to the cowl, and folding models add an upper hinge or strut; some kits use existing factory holes while others require drilling the cowl (never the panel itself). Keep the protective film on the panel until the very end so you don't scratch it during install.
