FAQs for Cart Rebuild Kits

What's actually in a kit?+

These are complete exterior-and-seating makeover packages built with color-matched DoubleTake components, matched to one platform — not single parts. A typical 5-piece kit includes a new body kit, front and rear seat cushions, a rear seat kit (with a safety bar, storage box, and flip-down cargo bed), and an 80" color-matched extended top with its struts and brackets; some kits also fold in an LED light kit. Everything is color-matched to work together, so you're turning a base cart into a like-new custom build in one bundle. Exact contents vary by kit, so read the listing for what's included.

When does one of these kits make sense?+

Reach for a kit when you're refurbishing an older cart or dressing up a plain base model and want the whole look done at once — body, seats, and top — instead of sourcing each piece separately and hoping the colors match. Because the components are bundled and color-matched, an all-in-one kit typically saves several hundred dollars over buying the same parts individually. If you only need one piece — just a body, just a top, just seats — those are sold on their own; the kit is for a full makeover.

How do I match a rebuild kit to my cart?+

These kits are platform- and often year-specific, so confirm your make, model, and year first — a kit built for a Club Car DS won't drop onto a Precedent or an EZGO, and the Precedent kit also covers Tempo and Onward up through 2022. For Club Car especially, decode the serial to be sure whether you have a DS or a Precedent before ordering, since the bodies can be swapped and mislead you. Match the kit to the platform the listing names.

I'm not sure which kit is right for my project — can you help?+

Yes — rebuild kits are a bigger purchase, so it's worth a quick call. Tell us your cart's make/model/year and what you're trying to accomplish, and we'll confirm the right kit and flag anything you'll want alongside it. Call 678-331-7404 before you order.

Why buy a kit instead of the parts separately?+

Two reasons: cost and cohesion. Because the body, seats, and top are bundled and color-matched, a kit typically prices several hundred dollars below the sum of the same parts bought individually, and the pieces are built to match each other and your platform — no mismatched colors or finishes. If you only want one piece you can buy it on its own, but for a full makeover the kit saves money and takes out the guesswork.
