Light Kits

For a full street-legal LSV build, most states require headlights (low and high beam), front and rear turn signals, running and brake tail lights, hazard flashers, a license-plate light, and reflectors — and some states require the components to be DOT-rated. A basic dusk-driving kit is just headlights and tail lights; a premium kit adds the turn signals and hazards that road use requires. Rules vary by state, so confirm your state's requirements with your county DMV before buying.

Light kits run on 12 volts, so on an electric cart you power them through a voltage reducer that steps the 36V or 48V pack down to a stable 12V. The reducer has to be sized above the total wattage of everything you'll run at once — undersized reducers fail quickly — and the main power lead must be fused. On a lithium-converted cart a reducer is mandatory, since there's no mid-pack 12V tap point.

A basic kit is two headlights, two tail lights, a switch, and a harness — enough to see and be seen at dusk. A deluxe or premium kit adds turn signals, hazard flashers, a license-plate light, and often a horn, which is what you need for street-legal LSV use. Pick based on whether you're just driving the property or registering for the road.

Yes — the brackets and harness differ by platform, so a Club Car DS kit won't fit a Precedent, and a G29 Drive kit won't fit a Drive2. Year matters too: the Precedent pre-2008 had no factory headlight cutout, so those years need a different bracket. Match your make, model, and year to the listing before ordering.

Most people can — a basic kit is roughly a 2-to-3-hour beginner job and a premium turn-signal kit is about 3 to 5 hours at an intermediate level. Always disconnect the main battery first, fuse the power lead, tie into a switched source so the lights die at key-off, and double-check any bracket before you drill.
