The common 36-volt carts are the Club Car DS built before 1995, the EZGO TXT (and older Marathon) before 2010, and the Yamaha G-series (G1 through G16). Note that the Yamaha G19 and G22 are 48-volt carts despite the G-series name. A quick way to confirm: count your batteries — six 6-volt or three 12-volt means a 36V cart; if you see six 8-volt or four 12-volt, you're on a 48V cart and need a 48V pack instead. It's a drop-in swap — you remove the whole lead-acid set (six 6V or three 12V) and replace it with a single sealed 36V lithium pack at the same voltage, so your stock controller generally works as-is. A few practical points: the pack is much lighter and smaller, so it usually needs a hold-down adapter; you'll likely want a fresh cable set; and because a lithium pack is sealed with no mid-pack tap, any 12V accessories need a voltage reducer.

Range depends on the pack's amp-hour rating and how you drive — terrain, load, and speed all matter — but lithium holds its power more evenly through the charge than lead-acid, so you don't get the same fade near the end, and it typically lasts several times more charge cycles.
