Rear Seat Kits

Golf cart rear seat kits are complete assemblies designed to add a second row of seating to carts that originally only have front seats. These kits convert a standard 2-passenger golf cart into a 4-passenger setup by adding a rear-facing bench with integrated support components.

Each kit includes the structural frame and mounting hardware needed to create a stable and usable rear seating area. They are typically used when additional passenger capacity is required, allowing more riders without replacing the entire cart or relying on custom modifications. For a deeper look at fitment, safety, and key features, see our rear seat kit guide.

This category focuses on complete, bolt-on solutions that provide both seating support and structure. Rear seat kits are chosen for family use, guests, or group riding, offering a straightforward way to expand capacity. Many kits also include a built-in footrest or platform to improve stability, creating a secure and functional rear seating area that integrates with the existing cart.

FAQs for Rear Seat Kits

Does a rear seat kit turn my 2-passenger cart into a 4-passenger?+

Yes — a rear flip seat kit adds a rear-facing bench that carries two more passengers and folds down into a cargo deck when you don't need it. Some stretch platforms also offer 2-to-6 conversions.

Is the kit specific to my cart model?+

Very much so — a Club Car DS kit won't fit a Precedent, and an EZGO TXT kit won't fit an RXV, because the mounting frames bolt to model-specific chassis points. Confirm your exact make, model, and year against the kit's compatibility label before ordering.

Does the kit include everything, like the grab bar and hardware?+

Most kits include the mounting frame, seat cushions, a footrest/cargo deck, and mounting hardware. Grab bars vary — some kits include one and others offer it as a separate add-on, so check the listing; since a grab bar is what your rear passengers hold onto, we'd always run one. Seat belts and rear lights are often sold separately and may be legally required for road use, so check your state's rules.

How much weight can the rear seat hold?+

Most 4-passenger kits are designed around roughly 150 lb per rear passenger, but the real limit is your cart's maximum passenger weight rating in the owner's manual. Exceeding that overstresses the rear suspension and the seat mounts, so check your cart's rating before loading up.

Do I need a longer top or a different enclosure after adding a rear seat?+

A rear flip seat turns your cart into a 4-passenger, but the seat by itself doesn't change your existing top. If you want a roof or weather enclosure that actually covers the rear passengers, you'll usually want an extended top plus a 4-passenger enclosure sized to that top's measured length. Not sure what your setup needs? Call 678-331-7404 with your make, model, and year and we'll confirm.
