Roofs

Golf cart roofs are full overhead structures designed to provide protection from sun, rain, and environmental exposure. They mount directly to the cart to create a covered area for both the driver and passengers, making them essential for consistent outdoor use.

These roofs are typically used when a cart does not have a top or when the existing roof is damaged, missing, or no longer providing adequate coverage. They provide a solid barrier against sun and weather, helping reduce direct exposure during everyday driving while protecting against rain and falling debris.

This category focuses on primary coverage rather than add-on accessories. Roofs are chosen for functional outdoor protection, allowing the cart to be used more comfortably in changing conditions. By providing reliable shade and overhead shielding, they help create a more usable and protected driving environment without altering the rest of the cart’s structure.

FAQs for Roofs

What size roof does my golf cart need?+

Roof size follows your cart's length and seating: two-passenger carts take a shorter top, four-passenger carts take a longer one, and stretched six-passenger builds need the longest. The top has to match your wheelbase and the spacing of your windshield struts, so the right size is tied to your specific cart, not just the brand. The safest path is to measure your existing top (or your strut spacing) or tell us your make, model, year, and passenger count at 678-331-7404, and we'll match the size before you order.

Will a longer four-passenger top fit my Club Car Precedent (or other stock cart)?+

Only if your cart's length and strut spacing match that top. A longer top is built for a four-passenger or extended cart; putting one on a standard two-passenger cart usually won't line up with the factory strut mounts. If your Precedent is a standard two-passenger, it takes the shorter top; if it's a four-passenger or stretched build, it takes the longer one. Match by your cart's configuration, and call 678-331-7404 if you're not sure which your cart is set up for.

What are golf cart roofs made of?+

Most hard tops are steel, aluminum, or a fiberglass composite, chosen to shrug off sun and rain. You'll find OEM-style replacement tops color-matched to your cart and aftermarket extended tops that add coverage and come in more colors. There are also bimini / sun-top styles that use a canvas cover over a frame. The exact material and finish are listed on each product.

How hard is it to install a golf cart roof?+

For most carts it's a straightforward job — a top typically bolts to the existing windshield struts and usually takes two people a short time to swap. The main thing to watch is that front struts on older carts can be seized or stubborn, so a helper and some patience help. Each top lists the hardware it includes and the struts it's built for; if your cart never had a top, you may also need struts or mounts.

Can I add a roof to a cart that didn't come with one?+

Usually yes. If your cart never had a top, you'll typically need the roof plus the mounting struts — the vertical supports the top bolts to — since a bare cart won't have them. Some tops are sold as a kit with struts and some need struts added separately. Tell us your make, model, and year at 678-331-7404 and we'll put together the roof and the supports that fit your cart.

Should I choose an OEM-replacement top or an extended aftermarket one?+

Choose an OEM-style replacement top to restore your cart's factory look and exact size, color-matched to the original. Choose an extended aftermarket top if you want more coverage — more shade over the seats or a rear cargo area — plus more color choices and sometimes added features. Both mount to your cart's struts; the difference is size, coverage, and style, not how they attach. Match the size to your cart either way, and confirm any extra features on the specific product.
