FAQs for Yamaha Replacement Parts

Which Yamaha G-model do I have?+

Yamaha's lineup runs from the G1 (1979) through the G22 (early 2000s), then the G29 'Drive' (2006–2016) and the Drive2 (2017+). A visual generation ID gets you close, but because Yamaha fitment is tightly segmented by generation, the surest confirmation is the serial number on the chassis frame — match your exact G-number or Drive/Drive2 before ordering.

Is my older Yamaha gas or electric, and what voltage?+

G-series electrics (G2 through G22) are 36V series-wound DC; the G29 Drive electric is 48V (DC 2006–2014, AC 2015–2016) and the Drive2 electric is 48V AC. Gas G-models are 4-stroke from the G8 onward, while the G1 and some early ones were 2-stroke.

How do I find my Yamaha's year?+

The most reliable route is the serial number, stamped on the chassis frame under the driver-side floorboard, which a Yamaha dealer can decode to an exact year. Yamaha doesn't use a simple year letter, so the owner's manual and a visual generation ID are helpful backups.

Will a part listed for a G22 fit my G16?+

Not always — Yamaha fitment is very segmented by generation, so parts are usually grouped like G9–G16, G19, and G22. Match your exact generation at the product level rather than assuming close numbers interchange.

I don't know my Yamaha's model or year — can you help?+

Absolutely. The best starting point is the serial number stamped on the frame; a photo of the front of the cart (for the headlight and generation ID) and the engine or motor bay helps too. Call 678-331-7404 and we'll confirm your model and year before you order a fitment-sensitive part.
