How to Install Eco Battery Plug Port on a Club Car Precedent?

Upgrading your golf cart with an Eco Battery system is a smart move—but to make charging easy and reliable, you’ll want to install the dedicated Eco Battery charge port. If you’re running a Club Car Precedent, the process is straightforward with just a few tools and a little prep.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through the installation step by step, based on the ExtremeKartz video tutorial.

Why Run the Cabling Through the Floorboard?

Many golf cart owners prefer to route their charge port cabling through the floorboard and up into the dash. This keeps wires hidden, prevents snags, and gives your install a cleaner, factory-like look. To do this, you’ll need to lift a section of the cart body and loosen a few panels.

Tools You’ll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver

  • Socket or wrench set

  • Zip ties (optional, for cable management)

  • Safety gloves and glasses

Step 1: Prep the Cart

  • Put the cart in TOW mode for safety.

  • Remove the seat to access the battery bay.

Step 2: Gain Access Under the Floor

  • Remove the two front body bolts so you can lift the body slightly.

  • Take out the screws holding the rocker panel in place.

  • Pull back the floor mat to create a path for your cabling.

This will give you enough room to neatly run wires from the charge port to the battery compartment.

Step 3: Install the Eco Plug Port

  • Slide the new Eco Battery charge port into the dash opening.

  • Secure it with three Phillips screws.

  • Make sure the port is snug and aligned properly.

Step 4: Connect to the Charger

  • Move into the battery bay. If you’ve already mounted the Eco charger, you’ll see a quick-connect harness coming off it.

  • Take the plug port’s pigtail and snap the quick connects together until they lock in place.

This click connection ensures the charge port and charger are now linked.

Step 5: Reassemble and Test

  • Reinstall your rocker panel and tighten the front body bolts.

  • Switch the cart back to RUN mode.

  • Plug an extension cord into the new charge port—your charger should power up immediately.

Final Thoughts

That’s it! With just a few screws and connectors, your Eco Battery charge port is now ready to go. This not only makes charging easier but also keeps your installation clean and professional-looking.

If you’re upgrading your cart with Eco Battery components, this is one of the simplest yet most impactful upgrades you can do yourself.
