Eco Battery Selection Guide

The #1 factor in which Eco lithium battery you choose is your desired range. Golf Cart owners often ask us “Which lithium battery do I need?” To which we always respond with two follow-up questions:

  • What is your desired range per charge?
  • Is your cart stock, modified, or heavily modified?

This page, and the Eco Battery selection guide table below, help you arrive at which lithium battery you will need based on your answers to the above two questions.

First, here’s a further explanation of the answer to that second question above. Customers sometimes omit that question and end up choosing a battery that’s not enough for what they need, or overkill for what they need. The reason why this is so important is because the more modified your cart is, the more power it needs, which drains the battery faster, decreasing your overall range. For example, a 2 passenger stock cart could get 45 miles of range with an Eco 48v 105ah. But that same battery, for a 4 passenger lifted cart with large tires and a Navitas controller, might only get 25 miles per charge.

Understanding Your Cart's Needs

Choosing the right battery depends on the type of cart you have. Our Battery Selection Guide makes it easy to understand which battery suits your cart’s requirements.

Stock Carts

If you have a stock cart, you need a battery that provides consistent and reliable power without overextending its capabilities. Stock carts are typically standard, two-passenger carts with no extra lift or modifications. They have:

  • 2 Passengers: Ideal for carrying you and one other person comfortably.
  • Non-Lifted Design: This means the cart sits at its normal height without any added lift or larger tires.
  • Standard Controller (up to 350A): The controller is like the brain of your cart's electrical system. A 350A controller is typical for carts without extra modifications.
  • Standard Gearing: This means the gears are set for everyday use and do not require extra power.
  • Flat Terrain Use: Perfect for use on flat golf courses or smooth paths.

Our Eco Battery options for stock carts are designed to deliver dependable performance and longevity, ensuring that your cart operates smoothly throughout the day. They are easy to install and require minimal maintenance, making them a hassle-free solution for your golf cart.

Modified Carts

Modified carts are those with a few upgrades for better performance or style. They often include changes that require a bit more power from the battery. Here's what modified carts usually have:

  • 4 Passengers: Designed to carry more people or extra gear.
  • Lifted Design (up to 23" Tires): The cart is lifted to accommodate larger tires, which can help with off-road or bumpy terrains.
  • Enhanced Controller (up to 450A): A more powerful controller helps manage the increased demands of a modified cart.
  • Standard Gearing: Still uses the basic gear setup, which works well with moderate upgrades.
  • Moderate Terrain Use: Suitable for slightly hilly areas or uneven paths.

For modified carts, which may have additional features or require more power, you need a battery that offers enhanced capacity and efficiency. Our Eco Battery selection for modified carts is crafted to handle increased demands, providing the extra power you need without sacrificing performance or durability.

Heavily Modified Carts

Heavily modified carts are built for high performance and are loaded with enhancements. They need the most powerful battery options to keep them running at their best. Here’s what these carts usually include:

  • 4 to 6 Passengers: Perfect for larger groups or heavy loads.
  • Lifted Design (up to 23" Tires): Supports very large tires, allowing for superior off-road performance.
  • High-Power Controller (up to 600A): This type of controller manages a lot of power, crucial for high-speed and powerful carts.
  • High-Speed Gears: Designed for those who want more speed and power, suitable for steep hills and challenging terrains.
  • Steep Terrain Use: Built to handle difficult terrain and steep inclines with ease.

Heavily modified carts require the most robust battery solutions. With our high-performance Eco Battery options, you can enjoy maximum power and endurance, perfect for carts that have been significantly upgraded or have high energy demands. These batteries are built to withstand intense use and provide exceptional reliability.
