FAQs for Roof Supports

What do roof supports (struts) actually do?+

They're the vertical struts and brackets that hold your cart's roof/top to the body — front struts up by the windshield area and rear struts at the back. If your top is sagging, rattling, or you're mounting a new canopy, the struts are what carry and secure it. They're sold to match both your cart and your specific roof.

How do I match struts to my roof and cart?+

Two dimensions matter beyond the cart platform: your roof width (60", 72", and 80" tops are common) and whether you need front or rear struts. Extended/longer roofs and rear-flip-seat setups use longer "candy-cane" or extended struts, so the roof length drives the strut length. Match the strut set to your platform, roof size, and position — a Precedent front strut is not a DS front strut.

What's the difference between front and rear struts?+

Front struts tie the front of the roof to the cowl/windshield area; rear struts support the back of the roof, and on carts with a rear flip seat the rear struts often double as the seat's top support. They're different parts and usually sold separately or as a front+rear set. Note which end you're replacing, and whether your cart runs a standard or extended top.

I'm not sure which struts fit my top — can you help?+

Yes — this is a common one, because the same cart can take different struts depending on roof length and whether it's a factory or extended top. Have your cart make/model/year and your roof width handy and call us at 678-331-7404, and we'll match the right front and rear struts before you order.

How is this different from the Roofs collection?+

The Roofs collection is the canopy/top itself — the overhead panel. Roof Supports are the struts and mounting brackets that attach that top to the cart. Buy the matching struts when you buy a new top, or come here on their own to replace bent, rattling, or corroded struts without replacing the whole roof. If you're adding an extended roof over a rear seat, you'll usually need the extended struts from this collection to go with it.
