FAQs for Club Car Windshields

Do I need a DS windshield or a Precedent, Onward, and Tempo windshield?+

They're different, so this is the first thing to settle. The DS has the older upright, flat-dash body, while the Precedent has a rounded, integrated front end, and our listings are split between the two. Some Precedent listings also cover the Onward and Tempo, and the listing title will say so; if a title names only the Precedent, don't assume it fits an Onward or Tempo. If the body has been swapped or you're not sure, decode your Club Car serial number to confirm the model before you order.

I have a Club Car DS. Why are there "old style" and "new style" windshields?+

The DS body changed around the 2000 model year, so DS windshields come in two versions: one for the older body (1980s through the late 1990s) and one for the 2000-and-newer body. The exact cut-over varies a little by brand, so match your cart's year to the year range printed on the listing. Matching the year range on the listing keeps you on the right DS body style.

Does a body kit change which windshield I need?+

It can. On a Precedent, some windshields are made for the factory body and others for DoubleTake's Phoenix or Phantom body kits, and on a DS some are listed for the factory or DoubleTake Spartan body. If your cart wears an aftermarket body, pick the windshield listed for that body, not just for the cart model. Not sure what body you have? What's the difference between a standard acrylic windshield and an impact-resistant one?+

Standard clear or tinted acrylic panels are the everyday choice for paths and neighborhood riding. Impact-resistant panels are the heavy-duty option, some listed at a thicker 1/4 inch, for carts that see rougher use or more debris. You'll also find folding designs, including some that latch with magnetic catches, in both clear and tinted. If you drive a street-legal LSV, look for a DOT AS4 listing.

How is this different from the Windshields and DOT Windshields collections?+
