How do I know which belt fits my cart?+

Belts are engine-specific, not just cart-specific — so match by the engine, not only the model badge. Club Car uses FE290 and FE350 engines; EZGO uses Robin/Subaru (EX13/EX17/EX21) and older Kawasaki; Yamaha uses the G-series and Drive-era MX engines. Find your engine family on the engine spec plate or via the serial before ordering, because belts that look similar differ by engine. This is a gas-cart collection — electric carts don't use drive belts.

What's the difference between a drive belt and a starter-generator belt?+

The drive belt is the CVT V-belt that transfers torque from the engine's driver clutch to the driven clutch — it's what moves the cart. The starter-generator belt drives the starter-generator, the unit that both starts the engine and charges the battery on many older EZGO and Club Car gas carts. They're different belts doing different jobs, so confirm which one you're replacing. If your charging or starting is weak, look at the generator belt; if you're losing drive power, look at the drive belt.

What are the wear symptoms?+

A worn or glazed drive belt slips — you'll feel power loss going uphill, hear a squeal, or notice reduced top speed; a narrowed or cracked belt is due for replacement. A failing starter-generator belt shows up as weak starting or a battery that isn't charging. Drive belts are a normal wear item, typically replaced every couple of years to a few years depending on use.

Should I replace the clutch at the same time as the belt?+

Often yes. Putting a worn belt on a new clutch — or a new belt on a worn clutch — makes the good part wear out fast, so inspect both and replace them together when either is worn.
